Darning Yarns - Natural Greys
Darning Yarns - Natural Greys
100% Welsh wool.
Blended natural white and black wools create these two grey tones, perfect for creative visible mending on both knitted and woven woollens.
A little card of subtle yarns to inspire you to darn that jumper or wool coat and keep it going!
After our fleeces have been spun and woven at our local mill, we get a few half or quarter full cones of yarn back along with our cloth. These are super useful for darning - especially as weaving yarns are often a bit stronger that knitting yarns so cope better with being pulled through cloth by a needle.
Various sheep breeds from our local farms have gone into our fabrics over the years and as such we have a broad selection amongst our darning yarns, from Llanwenog, Ryeland and Welsh Mule, to Black Welsh Mountains, Jacob a a little Shetland.
Colours will undoubtedly vary a little due to the nature of our materials, but we will always try and represent colours as accurately as we can. Some of our yarns are singles and others are plied but they are all around the same, fine guage.
Minimum length of yarn per card (total) 8.5m
